Many children learn to add by counting up the items in two groups of objects. This packet helps children learn addition through counting. Each problem presents two sets of objects written like an addition problem. Students are asked to count the number of objects in each group, write the number of objects below each group, and then add the groups together to find how many objects they have in all. This introduction to addition also gives students practice counting and writing numbers. The first three pages in this packet focus on addition facts up to 20 (with a focus on addition facts up to 10). The last three pages include larger numbers and include addition problems up to 30.
