Equation of a Line: Point-Slope Form

Common Core Grade Level:
Packet includes:
37 practice problems and an answer key.

This packet helps students practice using the point-slope form of the line. It includes problems ranging from using the given information to write an equation in point-slope form to changing an equation from point-slope form to slope-intercept form. Each page starts with easier problems that get more difficult as students work through the packet. After doing all 37 problems, students should be more comfortable doing these problems and have a clear understanding of how to solve them.

Sample Problem(s)

Simple:  Use the information given to write an equation of a line in point-slope form.  (6, -3) m=2

Advanced:  Convert the point-slope equations form into slope-intercept form.  y-5=-3(x+6)

Notes

Practice problems require knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplicaiton, and division of integers (negative numbers).
