Summary: Flat Stanley is the story of Stanley Lambchop, who wakes up one morning and finds that he is as flat as a pancake. As thin as a piece of paper, Stanley learns the advantages (sliding under closed doors and flying like a kite!) of being super thin. He even learns that he can travel by regular mail. This story follows Stanley throughout his adventures as a "flat boy."

Themes: being a little boy, having adventures, stopping thieves, thinking about the world in a different way. The book is funny and cute. It's great for boys, but girls also find it entertaining. Audience: This book is good for young children and early readers who are just getting into chapter books. It's a thin book, with lots of pictures, to help retain attention. Best of all, there is a whole series of Flat Stanley books, so if your child gets hooked, you'll be reading for a while.
