Sunny Tamrakar

Academic Services Coordinator

Sunny is the Academic Services Coordinator at EdBoost, focusing on building curriculum, monitoring student progress, supervising tutors, and coordinating the homework assistance program. Sunny graduated from UCLA, with a BA in Chinese History, in 2009 and has been a tutor at EdBoost since 2006.

Tiffani Chin, Ph.D.

Executive Director

Tiffani is the Executive Director and co-founder of EdBoost. She has been tutoring and doing test preparation since 1990 and is the author of two books, School Sense (a how-to manual for parents) and Tutoring Matters (a how-to manual for tutors).

Kaitlin Beck

Academic Outreach Coordinator

Kaitlin is the Academic Services Outreach Coordinator at EdBoost, focusing on outreach programs, building curriculum, monitoring student progress, and supervising tutors. Kaitlin graduated from UCSB in 2010 and holds a multiple subject credential. She has been with Edboost since 2010 and loved by many of the students here. Her outgoing and fun teaching style has made her a favorite around Edboost. She mainly teaches math, reading, and writing with elementary and middle school students.

Kathleen Lo

Kathleen is a Physiological Science major at UCLA, and part of the class of 2018. She has hopes of one day becoming a physician. In her spare time she enjoys outdoor activities, such as running and hiking. She also enjoys the visual arts. Kathleen’s tutoring specialty is math and science for middle and high school students.

James Novick

James is a former tutee, and now tutor, here at Edboost. After he graduates from CSU Pomona, he would like to go into teaching.  James’ hobbies include playing music, video games, and wrestle bears. James tutors math and English to elementary and middle school students.

Barrie Feusi

Barrie is studying Biology at UCLA, and is part of the class of 2016. As a science major, he loves tutoring math and biology, but he likes to work on reading with the younger kids as well.  Barrie’s hobbies include playing piano, socializing, and flying his airplane (toy).  Eventually, Barrie would like to become a genetic researcher and discover what genes have what effect on individuals.

Connie Li

Connie is majoring in Biomedical Engineering at USC, and is part of the class of 2016. When she’s not busy tutoring or studying, Connie likes to bake, play the violin, and explore LA (since she is originally from Columbus, Ohio).  Connie specializes in math and science for middle and high school students.

Ariana Ricarte

Ariana is a Sociology Major at UCLA, part of the class of 2016. She plans to go into social work and public policy after graduation.  In her free time she enjoys playing the piano and guitar. Ariana tutors in k-8th math and language arts.

Theo Lopez

Theo is studying History/Political Science at Loyola Marymount, and is part of the class of 2018. He has hopes of one day working in international relations and public policy. Alisa Anderson

Treasurer

Alisa earned her B.A. in business economics from UCLA. She then worked as an auditor for Deloite and Touche for two years. Before reducing her hours to care for her young sons, Alisa was the Director of Financial Services at Puretek Corporation in San Fernando.
