Claudine Phillips

Claudine earned her B.A. in environmental studies from UC Santa Barbara and her M.A. in Education Administration from Cal State Northridge. Claudine currently teaches third grade at Roscomare Elementary school. Previously, Claudine was a Instructional Coach of Elementary Literacy in Los Angeles Unified School District and she taught 5th grade, 4th grade, and kindergarten at Castle Heights Elementary. Claudine has earned the prestigious National Board Certification as well as a CLAD certification (for teaching English language learners), serves as a Model Classroom for LAUSD in the CCSS, and is a member of the Instructional Leadership Corp (a joint project with the CTA, Stanford, and the NBPTS).

Claudine serves a wide range of leadership and professional development roles at her school and district, including training Transitional Kindergarten teachers, providing professional development on instructional strategies for teachers and parents, and serving as a teacher advisor for the Los Angeles Educational Research Institute.

Most recently, Claudine was honored as an LAUSD and Los Angeles County Teacher of the Year for 2015 and was runner up for Teacher of the Year in California.
