As the Co-Founder and Executive Director of EdBoost, I wear many hats:

  • Tutor
  • Test Prepper
  • Curriculum Writer
  • Homework Assistance
  • Summer Camp Teacher
  • Private School Counselor
  • College Counselor
  • Website Designer and Maintainer (for better or worse!)
  • Chooser of Books
  • Figure-Outer of Calculators
  • Redesigner of Workbooks
  • Occasionally (fortunately only occasionally), throw-up cleaner-upper... just to name a few.

It's a diverse job. :)

It's a job that gives me a great perspective.  I see far more kids (and different types of kids) than any one parent can, work with way more grades and subjects than any one classroom teacher can, and design curriculum for a crazy range of subjects.  And, unlike most textbook and workbook writers, we get to actually use and tweak our curriculum as we use it (sometimes building it -- sometimes scrapping it and starting all over again).  What all that adds up to is lots a lot of thoughts and opinions about what works, what doesn't work -- and what can work with some kids when implemented correctly (most anything, by the way), and what almost never seems to work.

So, welcome to Tiffani's Boost Blog where (hopefully more often than less often) I'll muse on the academic problems, dilemmas, successes, and failures that we experience here at EdBoost, with the hopes of sharing some of our wisdom with other parents and educators who may be try to navigate the same ground!

Here's to helping build smarter kids and a better world,
