Printing Letters

One of the most critical skills that young students learn -- and need to practice -- is learning how to form letters.  We like for students to practice letters singly and in words (the practice not only demonstrates how letters are put together into words but help students learn letter spacing as well).  As many words as possible are sight words and/or commonly used kid words.

Use the worksheets below to help students practice upper and lower case letters (alone and in the context of words).

There are three sets of worksheets below.

  • The first two worksheets contain the entire alphabet (lower- and upper-case are separate)
  • The next set of worksheets cover 2 letters each, providing practice on wide-spaced lines and middle dotted lines to help students learn to draw their letters with the correct proportions.
  • Worksheets labeled "PreK" have even wider spaced lines for less coordinated writers.
