Statistics: Permutations Practice

  1. C.  There are 28 possible students for 3 slots.  You will do 28 npr 3 = 19656.
  2. D.  There are 5 different beads and 5 slots on each bracelet.  There is only 1 combination here, but order matters, so do 5 npr 5 = 120.
  3. B. The seats for Paula and her daughter are already set.  There is only one option there.  So, you figure out the boys and multiply by 1.  The boys are 3 boys for 3 seats, so 3 npr 3 =6 x 1= 6.
  4. 32.  There are two permutations here.  There are the small pictures (4 npr 2 = 12) and the large pictures (5 npr 2 = 20).  Add them together and you get 32.
