Carlos and his family live in California, but for Christmas, they are traveling back home to La Perla, Mexico.  Carlos’s parents are excited to head back to Mexico, but the children are not too sure what to think about it.  Even though Carlos and his siblings were born in Mexico, they don’t feel like it’s their home anymore. However, as the family travels through different villages on their way to La Perla, Carlos and his sisters begin to realize why Mexico is so special to their parents. When they arrive, the family is surrounded by their loved ones and Carlos realizes that it doesn’t matter where you live, because home is where the heart is and that’s with family.
