Comparing Numbers: Up to 10000
This packet helps students practice comparing numbers (up to 10,00) and using the signs for comparing numbers (<,>, and =). Problems ask students to circle the larger of two numbers AND use the comparison sign, so that whoever is grading the packet can tell the difference between students who don't understand which number is larger and those who can compare numbers but don't know how to use the signs correctly.
Circle the number that is bigger. Then use > or < or = between the numbers to show which one is bigger.
Simple: 398 ___ 419
Advanced: 7,826 ___ 4,800
Note: The answer key just shows the direction that the greater than/less than sign will be facing in a correctly done problem.
