Computation with Polynomials: Division
This packet helps students understand how to divide polynomials. This process is also called "synthetic division" and it follows the same rules as regular long division. The process takes some getting used to, but is not difficult with practice.
Each page starts with easier problems that get more difficult as students work through the packet. After doing all 30 problems, students should be more comfortable doing these problems and have a clear understanding of how to solve them.
Divide each polynomial.
Simple:
x+5 )x²-25
Advanced:
3x+5 )9x²+39x+40
Practice problems require knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of integers (negative numbers).
