Decimal Division with Decimal Divisors
This packet helps students practice long division problems, when the dividend (the number "inside the house") and the divisor (the number "outside the house") both contain decimals. The packet contains problems that require straightforward long division, with divisors up to two digits (excluding placeholder zeros) and dividends up to 6 digits. Students must remember to turn the divisor into a whole number, by moving the decimal to the right, and then move the decimal in the dividend the same number of places to the right. Students must then also be careful lining up their answers and bringing the dividend's decimal up into their answer (for proper decimal placement).
Find the quotient.
Simple: .79 )6.173
Advanced: .084 )2,524.2
