MathBoost! + Hands-on Science

MathBoost is an EdBoost specialty: every student starts the week with a computation pre-test to figure out which skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and integers) that they still need to master.  Students then work, at their own pace, to master as many of those skills as they can in the week. Math is more fun when you're better and faster at it -- and helping kids learn to work through math quickly and efficiently is the aim of this camp. 

Then, after lunch, we put the papers away and focus on hands-on science. We'll cover the science spectrum from life science (growing some plants or brine shrimp) to physics (electricity, magnetism, or gravity) and chemistry (What kinds of polymers can we create and why do they behave like that?).  Best of all, students will learn the science behind their experiments and we hope to inspire them to do more science on their own, using what they learn in camp as a launching board!
